Pappu Chaaru-పప్పుచారు

 
Ingredients:
Toor dal -1/2cup
Drumsticks-1(cut  into 1″ pieces)
Onion-6 small size(shellots)
Tomatoes-2
Green chillies-5
Carrot-1
Garlic pods-5(lightly crushed)
Tamarind Juice-2tbspns
Turmeric-1/4tspn
Salt as per taste.
Oil-1tbspn
Ghee-1tsp
Water-3-4 cups
Coriander Leaves-2tbspns
Hing-a pinch
Mustard seeds,jeera,curry leaves, dry red chillies-each one as 1/2tspn .
Process:
Wash toor dal and pressure cook it.
Wash and soak tamarind in water and squeeze Juice  from it.
Now chop the onions,Green chillies, Tomatoes,drumsticks,carrot.
Heat oil in a pan and do the seasoning with adding  jeera , mustard seeds , green chillies , curry leaves , asafoetida.
Add garlic pods and then add onions , drumsticks and,carrots & tomatoes and fry them for 2 mins.
Now add salt,turmeric,tamarind water and boil for 5 mins covering with lid.
Now take the  pressure cooked  dal & mashed it well.
Add this mashed dal to the boiling veggies ,add some water and mix it well.
Bring the mixture to boil and look for consistency ,taste for salt & sugar and adjust accordingly.
Finally add ghee & chopped coriander leaves and close with lid to condense the flavors for 2mins.
Switch off the flame and serve with plain rice.
