Shorba – షోర్బ


Ingredients:
Tomato-1
Onion-1
Ginger&Galic paste-1tsp
Curd-2tbsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Red chilly powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Dry coconut powder – 2tbsp or Coconut milk-1/4 cup
Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
Bay leaf-1
Cinnamon-1″
Cloves-2
Elachi/Cardamom-1
Shah jeera-1/2tsp
Process:
Chop the onion and tomato.
Heat oil in a pan add chopped onions fry till they get  golden brown color. Add ginger & garlic paste and fry it for a min.
Add  chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes become soft & mushy.

Remove from the heat and allow it to cool.Grind it into a paste with adding little water.
Heat a pan add oil, when it is hot add bay leaf,cloves,shah jeera,cinnamon & crushed elachi  fry for a minute.
Take a bowl add 2tbsps of curd and make it as buttermilk , add salt ,red chilly powder , turmeric ,coriander powder ,cumin powder &dry coconut powder or add coconut milk . Mix these well and put it aside.
Add grinded tomato paste to the frying pan and add some water and fry for 5mins.

Now add the buttermilk mixture to the frying pan  and mix well, let it boil for 10-15 mins.

Add garam masala powder  and cook it for five minutes.
Add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Serve with biryanis or chapathis.
